Jordan eyes free trade deal with CanadaAMMAN (AFP) – Jordan’s King Abdullah II reportedly called for a free trade agreement with Canada during talks with visiting Canadian Housing and Labour Minister Joseph Fontana

The state-run Petra news agency reported that the king said “measures should be stepped up to set up a free trade agreement with Canada aimed at bolstering the Jordanian economy.”…

King Abdullah and Fontana discussed possible Canadian assistance to develop the first mortgage company in Jordan aimed at providing low-income housing as well as investment schemes for Canadian businessmen in Jordan, the agency said. [more]
