it was banned because a decade ago a bunch of clerics in alazhar who havn’t read anything published since the Quran couldn’t understand allegory.

It was a delightful surprise to see Mahfouz lauded on an American Evangelical Christian blog today.
kinzi, i would be surprised to see mahfouz lauded on an american evangelical christian blog too. then again, it might be for the obvious reasons.
