Oula: that's the thing, comparitvely we can say there more well off than the average joe (or mohammad) because wages are so low in Jordan. As for the limping, I've heard and seen a lot worse. A few years back they used to rent mentally or physically disabled people and drag them around the streets to collect money. The worse the injury the more they earned.

Dear Nas,
that is a very nice piece.. especially at these times of 3eed where the streets are full of beggers... yesterday,i was out with my husband to buy some stuff, i went to the supermarket and my husband waited in the car, when i went back he said, look, imagine that i turned down this kid and after that i discovered the poor kid limbs.. he was limbing really badly...he pointed at the almost 10 year old, and i looked and felt very very sorry... but before i had said anything, as i wanted to ask him to follow the kid and give some money, a speedy car came... and... poov... the kid was running nomally.. he was walking fine... after crossing the street, he found a parked car with a woman in it.. he started to limb again and begged her for cash!
i wrote a story for Anti magazine about begging... I actually went with the social development ministry in their mini-van in which they detain beggers! acoording to the ministry, more than 75% of beggers are "rich"!
