It seems Ramadan is on Thursday! So, to all the readers of The Black Iris, Ramadan Mubarak to you and your families! May Allah (swt) accept your fasting!

I have a few interesting posts on Ramadan coming out both on this blog and on 7iber, so watch out for them this month!

p.s. easy on the qatayef!

p.p.s most exclamation marks I’ve ever used in my life!

The month of fasting has come,
the Emperor’s banner has arrived,
withhold your hand from food,
the spirit’s table
has arrived.

7aki: you’re in Canada if I remember correctly? your best replacement for qatayef are the frozen pancakes they sell next to the eggos.

Nas: So you defrost them and stuff them like you stuff the 2atayef?

    But I have a better recipe than yours …. the in-laws .. hehehehe …yup, I visit them when I feel like 2tayef

I am definitely going to take it easy on the katayef, especially since Paradise Bakery in Khalda has to call the police to help control the mobs in the afternoon, and we couldn’t even get close to the place if we wanted to.

Think I might need to learn how to make my own.
