It seems like there is a world of difference between participating in one hand and competing on the other hand, according to this Petra report

    http://www.petra.gov.jo/Artical.aspx?Lng=1&Section=1&Artical=52452

In past Olympics, Jordanian athletes were mainly concerned with participating and not in competing- &- only this year they decided to abandon the idea of participating only and move -on- into the competing phase. In this case I would say yeah go for it?

In some of these competitions there is no way we can win anything, like HAnahneh in the 200-meters, he’s a good runner but his best record is almost one second longer than any record needed to make it to the final race, and one second in 200-m race is a very very big number.
Same applies for swimming, it’s much easoer to predict they won’t qualify to the final competition because of their personal records.

On the other, in some competitions like taekwondo Dowani can do well, Zaina Sha’ban can also do well although her chances are not great.
