Oh, and regarding exclusion, I went to a high school in Amman that allowed those from the royal family the privilege of entering the school from a more convenient gate. The Amman Baccalaureate School.

What an unhealthy environment to raise kids in, traumatizing if you really think about it, and that is not an exaggeration. Its bad for the kids' phsychie

"Parking is strictly prohibited all along the corridor, and rightly so"

I have always been an advocate of parking tickets! Dont you think that the ammount of money would wipe away or governments debt within weeks?

I am actually serious about this. Instead of jacking up jumruk and unnecessary taxes that impede trade and economic activity, they should impose tighter traffic and parking restrictions. Two birds with one stone. Who's gonna throw the stone though? Abdullah aint got none left.

Hmm...This post just made me think of an idea...why not when one witnesses such a violation that he/she acts as a "social sensor"...beeping noisily somehow so that the violaters understand their wrongdoing.

Example: If it was indeed the french embassy, I think it would be suffice to hold up a banner with a phrase like> Move your cars out of our way! in arabic, french as well.

Its nice how I'm talking about it, but I'm really thinking, what does it take someone to do it? courage? alertness? being sincere about his/her concerns?

Think you are referring to the British Ambassador's residence which is located on Zahran Street and not the French Embassy! Don't blame the Ambassador because one can park on a side street and walk but most people like to be dropped at the front gate!!
