Round Up: As the Israeli onslaught in Gaza continues this week, the death toll continues to climb. With many of the dead being civilians and the European Union labeling the Israeli offensive as ‘collective punishment’, the situation has not sat well with Jordanian bloggers. Here’s what they had to say in the past few days: […]
Dear, Jordanian Bloggers
I am currently putting together a timely round up for Global Voices on the Gaza situation and the reaction of the Jordanian blogosphere. Unfortunately, I only have about 8 links so far, with only 6 bloggers having made some sort of comment on their blog about Gaza. Please bear in mind, this is […]
Global Voices: It’s September. The weather is still wonderfully warm, while the cool air moves swiftly between trees that are preparing to shed their leaves. Ramadan is just around the corner and there’s a lot to talk about on the Jordanian blogosphere. However, it’s only right to start with the biggest story; the one that […]
Global Voices: It’s been an interesting few days on the Jordanian blogosphere. It seems nearly every blogger has been talking about Petra, the rose-red city that recently became one of the new Seven World Wonders. [Read]

The seasons are moving forward, the weather is moving forward, and the clocks have all sprung forward for spring. But controversy is in the air these past few weeks on the Jordanian blogosphere…
The Arab Observer has a bone to pick with people who harass women on the street, while Hala looks at the double standards […]
The biggest story to take the Jordanian blogosphere by storm seems to be the strange weather lately. A snow storm swept the country for 24 hours and many bloggers had many things to say about it. Most got their cameras out to take a shot of the crazy weather and every frame had a very […]

Read my latest Global Voices round up of Palestinian & Pro-Palestinian blogs, and their reactions to the recent Beit Hanoun Massacre. The world has got to wake up!
Global Voices: One week after the Israeli army brutally attacked a weekly non-violent legal demonstration against the wall in the village of Bilâ??in, August 18th saw yet another black and blue protest. ISM reports that this time the army showed a greater sense of preparation as they added water cannons to their arsenal of rubber bullets and sound grenades. The cannons fired blue colored water on the demonstrators resulting in burns and skin irritation, stirring questions of whether the water had been mixed with chemicals. [Read More]
Global Voices: August 11th saw another weekly non-violent protest in Bilâ??in take a wrong turn as the Israeli army attacked protesters with rubber bullets and sound grenades as they marched toward the Separation Wall. [continue reading]
Global Voices: While the flames of war engulf Lebanon, Gaza is still under attack. Many of the victims have been Palestinian children, some barely a year old; and as their families prepare to burry them Haitham Sabbah asks the fundemental question: â??How shall we forget? How shall we forgive?â? [continue reading]
Global Voices: The word ‘peace’ has never seemed further from the recent realities that have gripped the region. Instead, the word ‘conflict’ seems to dominate the undertones of every blogger whoâ??s been keeping track of the developments in Palestine; and even ‘conflict’ feels like a euphemism these days. - Naseem Tarawnah
Global Voices: The shelling of a Gaza beach few days ago which resulted in several deaths, continues to be a priority story for Palestinian bloggers this week; specifically the unresolved issue of responsibility. [read]
On Rounding Up Palestinian Blogs
…and the depression that ensues.
For the past few weeks I’ve been writing the round ups for Palestinian Blogs on Global Voices. It’s not an easy job so I don’t know how Shaden (before me) managed to do it all this time. When you do these round ups it involves a lot of reading but when […]
Global Voices: Tragedy and shock has captured the minds and hearts of Palestinian bloggers this week. The Israeli shelling of Gaza which lead to the death of several civilians including women and children, has some calling it Bloody Friday…[read]
Global Voices: From barber shops and strawberry fields to politics and the lives of students behind walls, the Palestinian blogosphere this week has many stories to tell. [read]
